The Highclere Game and Country Fair was held on Saturday and Sunday 26 and 27 May, and enjoyed glorious sunshine on both days.
Once again, the regional team enjoyed a strong presence at the show, and were supported by the Langston and district wildfowling and conservation association, who bought along a fantastic display of fowling memorabilia and photographs. One particular attraction at this years event was a recently restored punt, which was used for many years in Langston by one of the founder members of the club. This, together with a punt gun dating back to the 1850’s, generated a great deal of interest from the passing public. Alan Wey of Alan D Wey & Co, custom gun and rifle maker, bought an array of both modern and antique sporting rifles, while BASC trainer Stanton Royle was on hand to offer guidance and general advice, on all matters relating to firearms and the law.
BASC south east will also be exhibiting at the Sussex Game Fair at Parham Park on 16 and 17 June 2012. We hope that the weather that we enjoyed at Highclere will be replicated!
