Celebrate The Glorious Twelfth – in Swindon!

grouseBASC are offering simulated grouse shooting for those unable to make it to the moors for ‘The Glorious Twelfth’.

Following the success of their inaugural Game Supper earlier this year, BASC’s Wiltshire Social Committee is giving members the chance to experience the thrill of walked-up and driven grouse at a clay shoot near Swindon.

The £25 entry fee includes clays for the 50 bird shoot, a freshly-cooked burger and a drink. Each shooter will have the chance to test their skills on a variety of challenging targets.

In addition, with the lowland game shooting season fast approaching, shooters can blow off the cob-webs with a 70-bird pheasant flush for teams of four guns. Teams can be made up at the event or a ready-made team can sign up on the day. Entries for the game flush will be taken on the day at £10 per person.

Robin Marshall-Ball, chairman of BASC’s Wiltshire Social Committee, said: “Even though this exciting new event is far from the grouse moors of the north, we can really celebrate the Glorious Twelfth in style. In fact, one of the prizes is a brace of oven-ready grouse!”

Profits from the event will be used to boost a fund supporting conservation activities in Wiltshire.

Spaces on the event at Barbury Shooting School, Wroughton, near Swindon (5pm), are limited so advance booking is essential. Reserve a place today by contacting Ed Paice (committee treasurer) – 07971729644 or email Edward.paice@gmail.com.
