The search is on for a new Secretary General of the European Federation of Associations for Hunting and Conservation (FACE).
FACE represents seven million hunters across Europe as an umbrella body for organisations such as BASC. The Secretary General’s role encompasses the functions of a chief executive. FACE is dedicated to safeguarding responsible hunting and improving wildlife and habitats.
Candidates must be passionate about hunting and nature, have experience in politics and lobbying and possess business management and development skills. They will lead a team of staff based in Brussels. Duties are extensive and will include high-level representative and political functions, policy development, governance, service to members and business management.
Marilise Saghbini communications manager of FACE said: “Angus Middleton has tendered his resignation as FACE Secretary General in order to take up the position of Director of the Namibian Nature Foundation. We are losing a great Director who has given a lot to FACE during the past five years. Yet with this, new opportunities are ahead for both Angus and for FACE. We are confident that having a new personality at the head of the FACE Secretariat will bring us a new energy and contribute to our development. FACE is forming a Recruitment Committee, led by the FACE Bureau, who will ensure we recruit the best person for the job, for the future of Europe’s shooting, and the place of shooters in European nature.”
The successful candidate must be an EU citizen, fluent in both French and English and be able to demonstrate evidence of leadership in a public-facing, multi-disciplinary organisation and have excellent written and spoken communications skills.
