On 19 November, BASC south east welcomed chief executive John Swift and recently appointed council chairman Martyn Howat to the region. As part of their visit, the south east team hosted a members’ evening at the South of England Centre near Ardingly. The evening provided opportunity to hear from the most senior members of staff and council as to the future outlook for shooting and the association as well as allowing questions to be asked about issues of current concern within shooting. A number of issues were discussed, including lead ammunition, firearms licensing, membership communication as well as media and political work carried out by the association. As a regional team we found the opportunity for discussion with our members extremely valuable, and would like to thank those who attended for their contributions to the meeting.
