Westcountry Game Fair

BASC south west’s flagship event, the Westcountry Game Fair, will be held at the Bath & West Showground on the 14-15 March 2009. BASC is taking over the balcony in the showering pavilion with a whole host of entertainment from gunsmiths, wildfowlers and artists to game cooking and cider tasting.

Wildfowlers Row

New to Wildfowlers Row is the Gloucestershire Wildfowlers Association. Started by five shooting men in 1956 the club is particularly interesting because of its involvement in conservation which started in 1978 with the restoration of the Berkeley new decoy at Slimbridge, this began a close relationship with the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust at Slimbridge. The club now runs an identification course for members at WWT Slimbridge and manages some 26 miles of the Severn Estuary from Gloucester to the Severn Bridge.

Also on the Balcony

The fantastic Marksman Shooting Simulator will be on show with the opportunity to have-a-go. The ST-2 provides instant feedback on your shooting and you can use your own gun.

Once again Chris Green will be appearing on the BASC balcony with his extraordinary decoy display, complimented by a wide-screen TV showing extracts of his ever popular pigeon shooting and wildfowling films.  New for this year – testing extracts from his latest film due out this summer. He is set to be busier than ever teaching country skills this year with indoor and outdoor ring displays – catch him while you can at his stand on the balcony.  (www.westcountrfilms.co.uk)
