Game’s On with the Woodspring Pigeon Shooting Club

Rob Collins from the Woodspring Pigeon Shooting Club in North Somerset has dedicated the last few weeks to showing other people how delicious game is to eat.

Firstly he undertook the daunting task of cooking a three course meal at Nailsea and Backwell Rugby Club’s VIP Dinner. Sixty guests were treated to Game Pate, Creamy Rabbit Stew or Pigeon Casserole and Blackberry and Apple Crumble. All of the ingredients were grown or shot locally.

He also cooked game taster dishes at Makro’s in Bristol as part of their open day to promote the foods they sell. The event was run over two days and they provided 500+ game tasters to the guests, many of whom had not tried game before. They were treated to hickory smoked and BBQ partridge, mixed game stew and cumberland duck. BASC would like to congratulate Rob and the Woodspring Pigeon Shooting Club on their efforts to promote game.
