Dog owners from across the south west will be able to put their pets and their handling skills to the test at the Cotswolds Show in Cirencester Park, Gloucestershire on 4-5 July.
The British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC) will this year be running ‘hurries’ which are similar to scurries which test speed, control and obedience. The ‘hurries’ are open to any dog as long as they are not a working gundog. They are ideal for people who have never tried scurries before and just want to see what their dog can do.
There are also plenty of opportunities for the seasoned working dog. A revamped Queen Anne Cup will be run over four scurry disciplines and over both days. The Cup will be awarded to the dog with the quickest combined time over all four scurries.
Individual scurries may be entered as often as desired over both days however dogs can only be entered for the Queen Anne Cup once (either day). The winner will receive the perpetual Queen Anne Cup, £100 in Chudleys dog food vouchers, a BASC gundog trophy and rosette. There will also be prizes for the quickest dog on each scurry, each day.
