BASC to offer more firearms courses in the South West

More people in the south west of England will be able to sharpen their shooting skills thanks to new courses being organised by the British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC).

BASC South West will be holding three firearms (rifle) awareness days and an air rifle awareness day over the next few months in Somerset.

The awareness days are aimed at the new or novice shot and deal with issues such as law, how a rifle/air rifle works and shooting technique. The remainder of the day is spent on the shooting range using a selection of rifles or air rifles.

BASC regional director for the south west, Jamie Stewart, said: “Over the last couple of months we have been working closely with our shooting standards department and have now put together a range of courses to be held throughout the spring. I am really pleased that we will be able to provide quality training to novice shots across the region.”
