Women get your guns for BASC training events.

Women are being invited to shoot for success at a number of training events set up by the UK’s largest shooting organisation, the British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC).

The first will take place on 11th March in South Derbyshire. All levels of experience will be catered for from complete beginners to experienced shots, with one-to-one tuition provided by qualified BASC coaches. The day will cover the basics of gun safety and handling, practical clay shooting, game shooting etiquette, the law and shotgun licensing.
All equipment will be provided including guns and cartridges.

Thousands of women already shoot but some can be put off because they may not know how to get started. Liz Lamb, BASC’s Midlands Regional Officer and former Great Britain team shooter, said: “It can be a daunting experience to find your way around what is generally perceived as a man’s world and to have your genuine interest taken seriously.
“BASC ladies’ training days address this problem by introducing new contacts and offering all the follow-up support needed.”

Another ladies training day has been arranged for 8th May in South Staffordshire. Each event costs £68 to attend, which includes all equipment, coaching, refreshments and a barbecue. An improve your shooting day will be hosted on 9th September to address the demand for shooting skills training from both men and women.
