BASC has made a deal with a top clothing company that will save the association thousands of pounds.
Under health and safety legislation, protective clothing has to be supplied to all outdoor staff so BASC has entered into a sponsorship agreement with Härkila and WM Gore that will kit out its outdoor and event staff in premium clothing potentially saving BASC £10,000.
As part of this sponsorship BASC has also managed to secure some excellent member-only offers from mail order experts BushWear.co.uk. These special offers will feature in each issue of Shooting & Conservation and are only available to BASC members.
BASC’s director of operations, Simon Hamlyn said; “We are delighted with this offer. It provides a much higher quality of clothing than we could afford and I believe that the Härkila and Gore-Tex range will provide the very best protection to our staff, who often work in appalling weather. It is truly outstanding kit; our staff will give it a really tough test and push it to the limits, and for that we need the best.”
Julie Dupree, spokesperson for Härkila, said: “We are delighted to supply BASC with the Härkila clothing and look forward to the outdoor staff at BASC benefiting from the highly technical, functional and yet stylish clothing for which Härkila is renowned. The tough and rugged active lives of the BASC staff will certainly provide a great practical demonstration of the very high quality of design, materials and manufacture of the Härkila brand.”
