BASC has taken its first steps towards using multimedia communication to promote shooting with the release of its first film on the internet.
The eight minute video was produced to highlight the work of BASC’s Green Shoots programme and has already been shown at events at the House of Lords and the Welsh Assembly.
The film was produced by BASC’s head of press relations Dave Harper who has experience of making documentaries as a former BBC TV environment correspondent. Camera work and editing facilities were provided by Bristol based Tec-Sec Media. In the future BASC hopes to set up its own video production unit based within its new communications centre.
Dave Harper said: “This is major step forward for BASC and our multimedia aspirations. This film gives us a glimpse of the potential to use video to defend and promote shooting. It’s also a great medium for education, training and to record the work of BASC and the life of the shooting community.”
Construction work is due to start on the new BASC communications centre in June.
