BASC’s director for Scotland, Dr Colin Shedden, will be addressing a national wildlife crime seminar today.
The Partnership for Action Against Wildlife Crime (PAW) Open Seminar is being held at Kew Gardens in London.
Dr Shedden will be addressing this year’s PAW Open Seminar highlighting how land managers can make positive contributions to the fight against not just poaching, but bird of prey persecution and the misuse of snares as well as assisting with rural policing.
Dr Shedden said: “Wildlife crime affects everyone in Britain, including the hundreds of thousands of people who enjoy sporting shooting. BASC and BASC Scotland take their roles in the PAW partnerships seriously and have, for example, key positions in the strategic priorities addressing poaching and illegal hare coursing both north and south of the border.”
