The South of England Show took place over 6th -8th June, at the South of England Showground in Ardingly, West Sussex.
This is the first time that BASC has had a presence at what is the largest agricultural show in the region and members of the South East team were kept busy on all three days talking to visitors to the stand. Despite a sudden deluge of rain on Friday which very nearly washed the stand away, the weather was generally good if a bit breezy.
It was encouraging to see a lot of interest in the work of BASC, particularly from members of the public who would perhaps not ordinarily the game fairs at which BASC is normally present.
Members of Chichester Wildfowlers also provided a display of photographs and wildfowling equipment which generated interest from the public and Alan Wey of Alan D Wey & Co, custom gun and rifle maker, displayed an array of both modern and antique sporting rifles which proved to be very popular.
