The UK’s largest shooting organisation, the British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC), will co-host an airgun awareness day in North Yorkshire.
The event will be held at Pontefract Air Rifle Club, near Burton Salmon, on 25th June 2011 from 10am until 4pm.
Nigel Adams, MP for Selby and Ainsty, is due to attend to see safe and responsible airgun tuition.
Officers from North Yorkshire Police will be on hand to give advice.
Phillip Pugh, BASC’s Northern regional director, said the event would provide a great day out for all the family and there will be one-to-one tuition and competitions.
He said: “We are particularly keen to meet parents who would like their children to learn how to safely enjoy this great sport of air rifle shooting. The Pontefract team will be available all day giving tuition. We are delighted Nigel Adams MP will also be joining us.”
The event will be supported by Air Arms airgun manufacturers.
Entry to the event will be free. Prizes will be on offer in adult and junior classes.
Catering will be available on site. Under 18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
