A group of students from a school in Wallasey got to try clay shooting for the first time at Sealand Ranges this month.
The 15 youngsters from Mosslands School were given a clay shooting lesson by shotgun coaches Grant Evans and Winston Broadhurst who work for the British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC).
The day was hosted by BASC staff Alan Booth, Susan Bull and Jane Matthews while head of gamekeeping Tom Blades spoke to them about gamekeeping and gundogs.
BASC’s training and evaluation officer, Jane Matthews, said: “The boys were chosen for their good behaviour and attendance and Colin Garland, the police liaison officer for the school told us that the youngsters had a really enjoyable and informative day. The school is very keen to repeat the day for other students in the future.”
Mosslands School is a secondary school that draws boys from all areas of Wallasey and Birkenhead.
