The British Association for Shooting & Conservation (BASC) will run a deer carcass handling day, at Grizedale, Cumbria on Sunday 25th April 2010. The day will be spent exploring the necessary skills for the post-mortem handling and inspection of shot deer in line with current Deer Stalking Certificate level 2 requirements. A certificate of attendance will be given to all delegates.
People taking part in the event will be able to learn from the skills of professional stalkers and instructors. They will look at gralloching, inspection, extraction, lardering and basic butchery. There will be plenty of hands-on opportunities. Previous events have proved extremely popular so people are advised to book early.
All equipment and light refreshments are included in the cost of £70 per person. If booking in conjunction with a dogs for deer day, also at Grizedale on 24th April, then a discounted rate of £120 for both days applies.
