BASC to give youngsters complimentary entry to Northern Shooting Show

Young people aged 15 and under, accompanied by a paying adult, will get complimentary entry to this year’s Northern Shooting Show thanks to BASC.

The event will be held at the Great Yorkshire Show Ground in Harrogate on the 11th and 12th May.

Gareth Dockerty, BASC North East regional officer, said:  “The Northern Shooting Show has become one of the highlights of the BASC North calendar.

“The vibrant show highlights all the benefits of the shooting community, with something for everybody from novices to experienced shooters.

“We are delighted to be working with the show to provide complimentary entry for youngsters, giving them an opportunity to experience everything on offer throughout the weekend.”

Why not come and say hello to us on the main BASC stand and enter one of our Young Shots competitions, pick up a few packs of conservation wildflower seeds and find out about the Young Shots events across the region.”

BASC will once again have a large presence at the show, with the membership stand featuring Sir Johnny Scott, plus a deer focus stand with head measuring.

Visitors will be able to try a Taste of Game at the cookery demonstration kitchen and have a lesson on BASC North’s new state-of-the-art shooting simulator.

The show will also host a shotgun coaching line offering lessons throughout each day, while all BASC junior members 15 and under can enjoy a free taster lesson.

Paul Whitelam, event organiser, added: “It’s been a privilege to work with BASC who, like us, understand the importance of introducing youngsters to the sport and we look forward to welcoming the shooters of the future to our show.”
