An activity day aimed at introducing young people to country sports will be hosted at the Drumbanagher Estate, Poyntzpass, Northern Ireland, on Saturday 11th February.
The day will be hosted by the British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC) in conjunction with the Drumbanagher Sporting Rifle Club.
Activities on the day will include:
• .22 rifle target shooting (non-BASC members will be charged £10 for this activity)
• Clay pigeon coaching with BASC-accredited shotgun coaches (over 18s only)
• Shotgun and air rifle safe handling
• Introduction to ferreting
• Introduction to gamekeeping
• Introduction to deerstalking
John Woolsey, BASC Northern Ireland development officer, said: “BASC would encourage people aged 21 and under who have an interest in country sports to come along and enjoy this great value-for-money day out at a traditional sporting estate.
