So much better than a chocolate behind a door – a Promatic clay trap is one of the top prizes in an advent competition being run each day on BASC’s social media in the lead-up to Christmas.
For a simple ‘like and share’ or retweet, thousands of pounds of festive shooting-related prizes will be up for grabs throughout the month of December.
BASC social media officer Victoria Chesters said: “There’s nothing wrong with chocolates, but we think our take on the traditional advent calendar will be slightly more exciting for the shooting enthusiast.
“We’re keeping the details of most of the prizes secret for the obvious reason that we don’t want to spoil the surprise. But each day a new door will open and there will be something behind that’s guaranteed to help make anybody’s Christmas that bit more special.
“It’s fair to say the clay trap kindly supplied by Promatic will be top of the Christmas wish list for most people, but we also have game bags, shotgun lessons, vouchers for BASC courses and gundog training equipment. In fact, there are more than fifty individual prizes across the 24 days.”
The free competition runs on BASC’s main Facebook and Twitter (@BASCnews) accounts from tomorrow (1 December) until Christmas Eve. The Promatic trap, worth almost £500, will be drawn live on 22 December.
Victoria added: “We want to have a bit of festive fun, but we also want to raise awareness of BASC’s social media presence. Social media has fast become the most direct way of quickly communicating, informing and engaging with members and the shooting community.
“Thanks to everyone who has so generously donated prizes and good luck to everyone taking part.”
BASC chairman Peter Glenser said: “This festive competition boasts some fantastic prizes and is so easy to enter. Thank you to everyone who has provided prizes and the best of luck to everyone who takes part.
