A BASC social committee for members in the South West of England will be officially launched with a wild game supper.
The supper will take place at Frogmary Green Farm, South Petherton, near Ilminster in Somerset, on Thursday 20th November and places should be booked in advance.
The evening will include game cookery demonstrations and a chance to meet BASC representatives, members and trade members.
BASC England South West officer James Green said: “We’re really excited about this event. Apart from featuring a mouth-watering game supper, the evening should also be a lot of fun and provide a useful networking opportunity for everyone who comes along.
“We also hope that guests will have lots of great suggestions to make so the committee can organise future social events. It’s set to be a great evening. Bring your partner, friends or family but don’t forget to book early.”
Exhibitors at the event will include Jo Ryall from Artemis Wild Design, Chris Green from Westcountry Films and Richard Cox – a Somerset-based wildlife artist with a particular interest in wildfowling scenes. The Wild Game Supper is supported by the Somerset Cider Brandy Company and Wyke Farms.
The wild game menu will include cold-smoked rainbow trout, medieval potted pigeon, smoked venison and coronation rabbit with mango.
The selection of main courses will include Arabian venison casserole, game lasagne and pheasant enchiladas – all made with locally sourced game.
Tickets cost £12 per person. Call James Green on 07500 609162, the BASC England South West office on 01884 260910 or email james.green@0ld.basc.org.uk to book your place.
