Those participating in the Countryside Clay Shoot at the Six Mile Bottom estate on Saturday the 9th of August will have the rare chance to shoot a Purdey, the finest shotguns in the world, for charity.
The Countryside Clay Shoot is being held to benefit the Gamekeepers’ Welfare Fund and the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution (RABI).
For a £20 charitable donation, participants can use a shotgun manufactured by Purdey, the holder of Royal Warrants from Her Majesty The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh and The Prince of Wales. The price for a bespoke sidelock Purdey shotgun starts at £78,400.
The guns will be held at one of the six stands, each of which will imitate driven birds. If a participant chooses to donate by shooting a Purdey, their score on that stand will be doubled.
James Horne, Executive Chairman of James Purdey and Sons said:
“We are delighted to support the excellent causes that will benefit from the Countryside Clay Shoot. We believe we make the best shotguns in the world and we are sure that those competing in the shoot will all want to have a go with an icon of the gunmaking world.”
Richard Ali, Chief Executive of BASC, who are organising the shoot, said:
“Purdey’s involvement is tremendous and a real boost to countryside organisations’ objective to raise funds for the Gamekeepers’ Welfare Fund and the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution.”
