People are being urged to sign up for this year’s Countryside Clay Shoot which will be held at the prestigious Six Mile Bottom shooting estate in Cambridgeshire on Saturday 14th May.
The annual charity shoot will raise money for the Gamekeepers’ Welfare Trust (GWT) and the CLA Charitable Trust and is being organised by the British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC) and the CLA.
Organisations, businesses and individuals are being encouraged to enter teams. Teams of four will compete across six stands with a mix of simulated game targets. Entry costs £600 per team which is £150 per person and includes hospitality.
The winning team will be presented with the Hugh van Cutsem Challenge Cup, dedicated to the memory of the keen shot and countryman.
Steve Bloomfield, BASC England director, said: “The Countryside Clay Shoot is a wonderful occasion which raises funds for two very worthwhile causes. We are very much looking forward to this year’s event and would encourage people to sign up as soon as possible.”
CLA Director General Helen Woolley said: “I am delighted that the CLA has joined with BASC in delivering this prestigious event. This is a great way for those who enjoy shooting to come together and compete for the Trophy in memory of Hugh Van Custem who was a great shot and supporter of the Countryside, but also to raise funds for two charities that are very important to the countryside community. I encourage everyone to get involved.”
The CLA will be providing hospitality throughout the shoot.
