New flavour for BASC Taste of Game

The UK’s largest shooting organisation, the British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC), is increasing its efforts to promote game by connecting businesses which sell game with consumers and by sharing news, events and recipes.

PrintThe Taste of Game campaign aims to raise awareness of the benefits of game by publishing posters, leaflets and recipe cards throughout the UK as well as providing consumers with useful online information about game dealers, restaurants and farmers’ markets. Taste of Game will also provide help for small businesses by producing a marketing guide for game food products and through its online and printed information.

A new logo has been designed to make game produce immediately recognisable to consumers. The logo will be available for companies to use on food products and for premises selling game such as restaurants, hotels, butchers and farm shops.

The Taste of Game website, Facebook and Twitter pages will also feature favourite recipes from affiliated Taste of Game chefs and individuals plus details of events such as dinners and tastings.

Annette Cole, Taste of Game development manager, said: “Game meat and dishes are now very popular. The campaign encourages more people to enjoy the great taste of game and provide help to those who sell game to reach a wider public. British game is wild, healthy and local. It can be enjoyed all year round and through the campaign we will aim to show just how easy it is to buy game and to cook it.”
