Natural England Chairman launches wildlife stamp

WHT Stamp Individual 2015 HIGH RESThe Wildlife Habitat (WHT) stamp which raises funds for conservation was launched last weekend by Mr. Andrew Sells, the Chairman of Natural England, at the CLA Game Fair at Harewood House. The stamp raises funds for land purchase and conservation through the sales of the stamps for £5 each to supporters of the work of the Trust.

The stamp features artwork entitled Mallard on Bridgwater Bay by Jackie Garner. The launch was sponsored by Tanners Wines of Shrewsbury.

The WHT makes loans to groups seeking to purchase land for shooting and conservation and makes grants to bodies, not necessarily in the UK, seeking to improve habitats, for example the habitat of migratory mallard in Lithuania.

Andrew Sells, Chairman of Natural England, said; “We all appreciate the fundamental importance that wildlife habitats play in conservation and I am delighted to be launching the Wildlife Habitat Conservation stamp this year, which we trust will be a great success.”
