Former gamekeeping lecturer joins BASC

Farmer picBASC Central England has appointed a new regional officer, former countryside management lecturer Louise Farmer.

Louise is an avid deerstalker and game shot and has a keen awareness of issues concerning conservation and animal welfare.

She said: “I would like to promote awareness of fieldsports and shooting disciplines with particular focus on introducing the sport to youngsters, which is incredibly important for the future of shooting and conservation.”

Steve Bloomfield, BASC director England, said: “I am delighted Louise has joined the team. She is the daughter of a gamekeeper and has spent time as an assessor for gamekeeping apprenticeships. Her previous role as a lecturer in game and deer management at Moulton College in Northamptonshire ensures that she has the skills and ability to represent and support our members across the region.”
