Opportunities for BASC members to try wildfowling are detailed in an updated Wildfowling Permit Scheme booklet produced by BASC.
The booklet is designed to provide information to people who have never been wildfowling as well as the experienced wildfowler.
It includes contact details of clubs which are willing to take people out to try wildfowling for the first time or to try wildfowling in a new area.
It provides a basic introduction to the sport and information on where people can obtain wildfowling permits throughout the UK.
Last year’s booklet was downloaded more than 13,000 times. Copies of the new booklet are available at the BASC stand at this years Game Fair at Ragley Hall.
Paul Willamson, BASC’s head of land management, said: “The booklet contains informative sections on wildfowling and the law, fieldcraft, a quarry guide and the wildfowler’s code of practice all of which help keep wildfowlers up to date on current best practice in the sport. It also contains contact details for all of the participating clubs.”
John Dryden, a member of BASC Council and chairman of the association’s wildfowling liaison committee, said: “The permit scheme booklet is an open door to unbelievable opportunities, it is a great way to experience the world of wildfowling and build friendships all over the British Isles.”
