DUNCAN THOMASÂ has been appointed BASC’s director for Northern England.
Duncan has been a BASC member for more than 20 years and is widely known for his proactive stance in supporting members’ interests across the region and beyond. He is a former wildlife crime liaison officer and has worked for BASC North for four years as regional officer and acting regional director.
His many interests include fly fishing, lowland and upland game shooting, deer management and the breeding and training of gundogs. He beats, picks-up and shoots throughout the north-west and is a well-known commentator on matters concerning shooting and conservation and has a high profile on social media.
Duncan said: “It is a massive honour to secure the role and I am enormously grateful to our team of volunteers and supporters and especially our members who have made this possible. I am really proud of what we have achieved here in the north and look forward to a whole new chapter.”
