Next year’s Countryside Clay Shoot will be held on 13th May 2017, at the Six Mile Bottom Estate in Cambridgeshire.
It will be hosted by the British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC) and the CLA.
The event will raise funds for the Gamekeepers’ Welfare Trust (GWT) and the CLA Charitable Trust. Teams of four will compete across six stands with a mix of simulated game targets. Individuals, businesses and organisations are encouraged to enter teams.
Steve Bloomfield, BASC England director, said: “The Gamekeepers’ Welfare Trust and the CLA Charitable Trust are two hugely important charities. This shoot is an excellent way for people to contribute to their fundraising while having the chance to take part in a friendly competition. I would encourage anybody who is interested to enter as early as possible, as places are limited.
“The charity shoots over the past couple of years have been huge successes and we have high hopes for next year’s competition as well.”
CLA Director General Helen Woolley said: “The Countryside Clay Shoot goes from strength to strength each year and we are delighted to be joining with BASC once again to help raise funds for the Gamekeepers’ Welfare Trust and the CLA Charitable Trust.”
The winning team will receive the Hugh van Cutsem Challenge Cup, dedicated to the memory of the keen shot and countryman.
Entry will cost £600 per team, or £150 per person. Cartridges and hospitality are included in the cost. To book a place please contact BASC Central on 01283 810910 or central@0ld.basc.org.uk
Twenty eight teams entered the 2016 shoot, including teams from BASC, CLA, and the National Gamekeepers’ Organisation (NGO). The winning team was the Staffordshire Game Farm captained by Tony Thompson.
