Date announced for Countryside Clay Shoot 2016

Countryside Clay Shoot 2014The 2016 Countryside Clay Shoot will be held at the prestigious Six Mile Bottom shooting estate in Cambridgeshire on Saturday 14th May.

Once again, this annual and well-supported charity shoot will raise money for the Gamekeepers’ Welfare Trust (GWT) and the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution (RABI) and will be organised by the British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC) and the CLA.

Twenty eight teams from organisations, estates and shoots competed for the Hugh van Cutsem challenge cup at this year’s event.

Participants included teams from the Angling Trust, the British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC), the Countryside Alliance, CLA, Guns on Pegs, and the National Gamekeepers’ Organisation (NGO).

Teams of four competed across six stands with a mix of simulated game targets. The shoot was won by the NGO team. Mrs Rosie van Cutsem presented the winning team with the Hugh van Cutsem Challenge Cup, dedicated to the memory of the keen shot and countryman.

Steve Bloomfield, BASC England director, said: “The Countryside Clay shoot is a wonderful occasion which raises funds for two very worthwhile causes. We are very much looking forward to next year’s event which will build on the success of the previous years’ events. It’s definitely a date for the diary.”
