Visitors to the British Association for Shooting and Conservation’s (BASC) Gamekeepers’ Fair this weekend (11th and 12th of April) will be able to shop at more than 200 trade stands and see a range of arena demonstrations.
There will be Taste of Game cookery demonstrations, a food village and a BASC Deer Stalking village at the event at Catton Park, Walton on Trent, Derbyshire.
People can take a clay-shooting lesson with a BASC-accredited shotgun coach and enter a range of competitions including the BASC Chudleys gundog Scurry League and clay shooting competitions.
This year there will be a new shooting layout sponsored by Browning, Promatic and Eley. The layout includes something for everyone from beginners right through to a 100 bird competition including compact, high pheasant flush and a pigeon decoying challenge.
The shooting experience will have its own car park, picnic area and catering facilities. Visitors don’t have to enter the show to visit the shooting experience.
BASC director England Steve Bloomfield said: “We are looking forward to once again welcoming people to the BASC Gamekeepers’ Fair. It is always an enjoyable event and offers a fantastic day out for all the family. This year there are even more activities and demonstrations to enjoy. BASC staff and volunteers and exhibitors have been on site preparing for the event and we are looking forward to the weekend.”
The fair and the shooting experience will be open from 9am until 5pm on both days and experts from BASC will be at the fair to answer questions on all aspects of shooting and conservation.
