The British Association for Shooting and Conservation is urging members in Scotland to take part in a firearms licensing questionnaire to give their opinion on the current licencing process.
The HM Inspectorate of Constabulary in Scotland (HMICS) is undertaking an inspection of Police Scotland’s licensing arrangements and wants to hear from anyone who has applied to Police Scotland, in the last two years, for a firearm, shotgun or airgun certificate.
Colin Shedden, BASC’s Scotland director, said: “We welcome this pro-active approach by HMICS and the survey is a great opportunity for members to voice any concerns they have, which could help shape the future of the licencing system here in Scotland.”
The anonymous survey should take no longer than 10 minutes to complete and the deadline for responses is Friday, 3 November 2017.
