The UK’s largest shooting organisation, the British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC), strongly condemns any illegal activity.
BASC has 130,000 members, 70 per cent shoot game and 3,800 are gamekeepers.
BASC chief executive John Swift said: “Failure to observe the law and codes of practice tarnishes the reputation and good work that gamekeepers do managing the countryside.
BASC is closely involved in the high level and local initiatives required to solve this problem.
BASC has shown that it will expel members who break the law – and will not admit them if they have done so in the past.
