BASC announced as official partner of The Game Fair 2017

BASC has been named as official partner of The Game Fair 2017, to be held over three days at Hatfield House next month.

The Game Fair will be returning its focus to countryside sports this year, with opportunities for visitors to try shooting and angling and also tour the biggest group of fieldsports-related stands and businesses in one place in the UK.

Now in its 59th year, it is expected that this year’s event will attract up to 150,000 visitors and 1,000 exhibitors, many of whom will be BASC trade members.

BASC chairman Peter Glenser said: “The Game Fair has always appealed to BASC members but this year’s event is promising to be something special. The Game Fair is one of the highlights of the summer show season.

“As the UK’s largest shooting organisation, we are delighted to be involved so prominently in a festival for people who are passionate about countryside pursuits.

“The Game Fair will be a celebration of all that is good about shooting and will be a fantastic way to whet the appetite for the season ahead. We look forward to welcoming our members in great numbers.”

James Gower, managing director of The Game Fair, said: “We are excited that in 2017 The Game Fair will be bigger and better than ever, with a focus on shooting’s positive role in the countryside.

“As official partner of The Game Fair 2017, BASC will help ensure that this much-loved event reconnects with its core audience. The gun trade told us they wanted more people who shoot at the event and we could not ask for better than to have BASC as our partner. We have already had such positive feedback from the industry and members of BASC.”

Celebrating British fieldsports and country life, The Game Fair 2017 will be spread across three days from July 28 to 30 and will boast a comprehensive itinerary for the whole family, including gundog handling, archery, fishing, falconry and ferreting. The fair will also host a round of the BASC Chudleys Scurry League.
