BASC launches online hub for lady shooters

BASC LADIESBASC has launched an online hub to bring together all aspects of ladies shooting.

The section is dedicated to keeping women up to date with events, news and information relating to ladies shooting throughout the UK.

The hub, available here or by following the drop-down menu under ‘shooting’ on the BASC homepage, is not restricted to BASC-run events and will work alongside ladies clubs to promote their activities.

BASC Ladies Shooting also now has its own Facebook and Twitter (@BascLadies) feeds and will use these to provide regular updates.

Chantel Taylor, BASC marketing and sales administrator, said: “BASC has worked hard to attract women members. We have done that in numerous ways, including the promotion of dedicated Ladies’ Days and encouraging women to sign up as accredited shotgun coaches. Around 10 per cent of BASC shotgun coaches are now ladies and we hope to keep increasing this.

“Early in 2016, BASC reported that the number of new women members joining the association annually has risen by a third in the last four years. This Ladies Shooting hub is an exciting next step towards building on that success.”

BASC, the UK’s largest shooting organisation, welcomed 1212 new women members in 2011 and that figure rose to 1603 in 2015, as the association recorded its highest total membership level since its creation more than a century ago.

BASC now has almost 10,000 women members, but is keen to cater further for the upsurge in women shooters in recent years.
