A new range of insurance policies has been launched by BASC which will cover on and off-road vehicle use, travel including shooting and fishing, personal accident and cover for professional shooting activities.Browning, Eley, Coaching, SponsorshipNick Glazebrook, BASC’s head of business development said: “These insurance policies have been designed by AIM Risk Services* with BASC members in mind. Together we have identified gaps in the market where many standard policies do not cover shooting and related activities. These policies cover those gaps.”

The policies offer a range of options and people can select the level of cover which best suits their needs.

The motor insurance policies cover private vehicles, 4x4s and ATVs. Cover can be selected for off-road driving. It can also be extended to include guns should they become damaged while being transported and injury to passengers in a towed trailer.

The travel insurance policies also cover a wide range of shooting and fishing activities including big game hunting and safaris. If a trip is cancelled there is cover to reimburse the policy holder for pre-booked shoot costs. Cover can be extended to include partners and family.

The personal accident policy offers £100,000 of cover for activities outside those covered by BASC membership. This benefit is doubled to £200,000 for an accident whilst participating in a BASC-recognised activity.

The new Coaches and Professionals policy provides essential insurance protection for qualified coaches and shooting professionals including public liability, professional indemnity and personal accident.  The policy covers a wide range of professionals, including gamekeepers, deer stalkers (DSC1 and DSC2 qualified) shotgun coaches, trainee coaches, airgun coaches and qualified safety officers.
