BASC inspires young shots at Midland Game Fair

midlandBASC delivered more than 430 air gun coaching lessons during the two days of the Midland Game Fair.

Lewis Par, 17, from south Wales, won a BSA air rifle for finishing top of the Under-18s target competition.

Richard Fussell, BASC training and development officer, said: “It was a marvellous effort by all the staff involved to get so many people through the coaching line.

“It was particularly pleasing to see youngsters having fun shooting an air rifle while also receiving professional coaching about safety and responsibility. I am sure many of the youngsters were inspired to have another go and a few of them will now have air rifles on their Christmas list.”

Duncan Greaves, a BASC council member, said: “BASC are always delighted to take opportunities such as this to educate people about the safe use of guns. As usual, the standard of coaching was top class and there were smiles all around from the youngsters taking part.”
