BASC’s Bill Harriman is among the guest speakers at a ‘Talking Stalking’ evening in Usk, Gwent, later this month.
Bill, BASC’s director of firearms, will be discussing knives and the law at the evening at the Three Salmons Hotel on October 12.
The Deer Initiative’s Patrick Faulkner will be drawing on 50 years of stalking experience to outline the essential and non-essential equipment needed for deer stalking.
David Harris, veterinary advisor to the Welsh government, and John Morris, the Welsh government’s bovine TB officer, will be discussing deer diseases. The guests will later take questions from the audience.
Meurig Rees, BASC Wales officer, said: “The guests will be taking questions from the audience, so it is set to be an extremely informative evening.”
John Thornley, who is vice chairman of BASC Council, chairman of BASC’s deer stalking committee and a trustee of the Deer Initiative, said: “This type of event brings together a wide variety of deer stalking interests and provides a platform for stalkers to both air their views, ask questions and listen to some first class experienced speakers. It also makes a considerable contribution to deer management and their welfare.”
The £6 entry fee includes a venison burger or similar but booking is essential for the limited places. For further details, email steve.griffiths@thedeerinitiative.co.uk
