BASC is honoured to have sponsored and played a part in the incredibly successful Royal Marines Commando Charity Clay Shoot for the third year in a row.
The two-day fundraiser, held at County Clays in Dunkeld, sees all proceeds going towards the Royal Marines Charity which helps to provide essential support to serving commandos, service families, veterans and cadets.
This year, as well as sponsoring the day and advertising the event to members, BASC Scotland entered their own team which included Cara Richardson (Scottish Committee Chair and Council Member), Mike Hardy and Calvert McKibbin (both Scottish Committee Members). They were joined by the experienced Adam Johnstone, who is a veteran of 45 Commando Royal Marines. The team won the pheasant flush and were presented with their trophy at the auction dinner held at Dunkeld House Hotel.
BASC Scotland Country Officer, Jake Swindells, said: “To be involved with sponsoring such a fantastic event is an absolute honour. This is the third year BASC has been involved in raising money and awareness of the charity at County Clays and it is rewarding to see the hard work pay off every year. There were some truly humbling and heart-warming stories during the auction dinner and the generosity was overwhelming. From the auction alone there was over £25,000 raised. We will be happy to be part of the family of sponsors for years to come.”
