Young Shots Simulated Game Day – Cambridgeshire

BASC Eastern region held a Young Shots Simulated Game Day at Burrow Hill Farm, Chatteris in Cambridgeshire on 28 October by kind permission of Trevor Scott and Sentry Simulated Game www.sentry.co.uk

The aim of the event was to take junior members, who have previously attended BASC’s Young Shots training days, to the next level in their shooting careers. The fast pace of the drives, which mimic Partridge and Pheasant drives as closely as possible, meant it was a real test for the 15 youngsters. They were able to practice shooting safely, accurately, and courteously when under the pressure of a busy drive, all under the watchful eye of BASC shotgun coaches.

After lunch, they also had the opportunity to shoot Sentry’s 50 bird sporting layout again with the expert help of their individual coaches so that any problems with their technique could be ironed out.

BASC’s Eastern regional officer, Simon Reinhold, said: “This event is always extremely well attended as it represents incredible value for our Young Shot members – a whole day’s shooting, cartridges and lunch provided for just £15.00. All of the young shots enjoyed the day which was helped by glorious weather. We’re hoping for the same weather next October when we hold our next event in conjunction with Sentry Simulated Game who generously host these days.”
