Leicestershire youngsters on target to be top shots

Young people in Leicestershire will have the chance to try clay shooting and air rifle shooting at a special event next month.

The British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC) has organised a Young Shots day at Kibworth on 28 May.

The youngsters will learn about safe gun handling and the law relating to shotguns and air rifles as well as getting practical tuition in using shotguns and air rifles. There will also be a working gundog demonstration and talks about gamekeeping and conservation.

These days are aimed at young people between the ages of 8 and 17 that have just started shooting or who are about to take up the sport, and are aimed at teaching safe and responsible shooting and demonstrating its place in the countryside.

The cost of each day is £15 per person, which includes all tuition, clays, cartridges, use of guns, etc.
