The UK’s largest shooting organisation, the British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC), will host an exciting ‘hands-on’ activity day in Staffordshire to provide young people with an insight into country sports. The activity day will be held on 21st August at a private country estate in Burton-on-Trent on the Derbyshire border.
Activities will include clay shooting, an air rifle range, gundog handling and demonstrations, falconry, ferreting and rabbit control. All activities will be carried out under the supervision of qualified instructors and the event is open to young people aged eight to 18-years-old.
Steve Bloomfield, BASC’s Midland regional director, said: “We at BASC believe that more young people should get the chance to experience some of the activities the countryside has to offer. Shooting sports, including clay shooting and air guns are just a small part of country pursuits. There are other aspects for example wildlife conservation, falconry, working dogs and how a working agricultural and sporting estate balances all the different needs of its woodlands and wildlife. On this country estate you will have the benefit of qualified instructors and experts to help you enjoy an action packed day out – we guarantee it will be a day to remember.”
Places cost £15 per person.
