Young people in Leicestershire will have the chance to try countryside activities such as fly fishing and clay shooting at a special event this month.
The British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC) has organised a ‘Young Shots’ day near Loughborough on 30 May. Fly fishing tuition will take place throughout the morning with falconry, working dogs and clay shooting in the afternoon.
These days are designed specifically for young people (8-17 years) to provide education and training in shooting and country sports. You do not have to be a member of BASC to participate and all levels of experience are catered for. Young people from non-rural backgrounds, who may not have the opportunity to experience such activities, are especially welcome. This is a ‘hands-on’ day where all individuals actively participate in each of the disciplines under the tuition and guidance of experienced coaches.
The cost of each day is £15 per person. To book a place, please contact BASC Midland regional centre on 01889 565050 or email midland@0ld.basc.org.uk.
