Professional pest controllers were put through their paces with airguns at a training day held by BASC Scotland. Airgun shooting is an integral part of pest control and professionals need to be able to demonstrate high standards of skill and safety. The training day involved presentations, a written examination and a practical shooting test.

BASC Scotland’s Kenny Willmitt, a BASC-accredited airgun coach, said: “Pest controllers have to use airguns in a wide variety of situations and safety and skill are paramount. We train them to be able to identify safety risks and to be able to use airguns quickly and humanely.”
