A Young Shots Introductory Day will be held on Saturday 11th May in Cornwall, organised, by the British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC) working with Duchy College and the Cornwall Wildfowlers’ Association.
The event held at Duchy College, Callington, will allow youngsters to learn about gundogs, ferreting and wildfowling as well as the opportunity to have a shotgun lesson with BASC-accredited coaches and a chance to try air rifle shooting. Duchy College will also be showcasing the work of gamekeepers.
David Gervers, BASC’s South West Regional Director, said: “This event builds on the brilliant day that we ran last year with Cornwall Wildfowlers’ Association, which was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone involved. Apart from being good fun this is a great opportunity to try something new in a safe and supervised environment. We are very grateful to Duchy College for hosting the event. It is set to be a great day, we look forward to seeing you there.”
The day will cost £20 and will run from 9:30am. It is open to both BASC members and non-members. Places are limited so advanced booking is essential.
All BASC young shots who get a friend to book on to the course will be entered into a prize draw with the chance to win one of a range of prizes from a shooting DVD from Westcountry Films to a free place on a BASC Young Shot Progression Day.
