An Oxfordshire brewery has hosted another Taste of Game evening with fifty diners enjoying a game buffet and beer tasting.
The guests were given a tour around the Hook Norton brewery followed by the buffet which included venison, pigeon, partridge, pheasant and rabbit.
Brewery managing director James Clarke (and great great grandson of the breweries founder) was on hand with his staff to share the secrets behind their beers and to explain how they complemented the dishes available.
BASC’s regional officer for the south east Jenni Thompson, who helped to organise the event said: “These events are a great way to raise awareness of game as food and to encourage people to try new ways of cooking game and different game dishes. Such events have had a very positive benefit to the game market with game sales doubling in the last two years.”
