Former England cricket captain Sir Ian Botham and his son Liam have been shown round BASC’s head office in Rossett.
Sir Ian, who is one of BASC’s centenary patrons, was given a tour of the site where the association’s new communications centre will be built.
Director of operations, Simon Hamlyn, said: “As a broadcaster, Ian is very much on side with the need for modern communications. He recognises that we live in an age dominated by the media and that to ensure we get our messages across on behalf of the shooting community BASC must be able to ensure balanced comment in the media.”
The guests also met with chief executive John Swift and Bill Harriman, director of firearms and BBC Antiques Roadshow regular who explained the history of the fascinating guns on display in the Duke of Westminster Hall.
