There will be two more opportunities for people in the south east to ‘have-a-go’ at the Olympic sport of clay shooting this summer.
The British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC) has organised a ladies-only day at Lains Shooting School near Andover, Hampshire on Friday 6 June and a training day for all adults on Friday 11 July at Worminghall in Oxfordshire.
The training days are open to people of all skill levels and only cost £65 which includes the use of shotguns, clays and cartridges, food and coaching.
Jenni Thompson, BASC’s regional officer for the south east, said “We have already held several ladies days during the past year which have opened doors to all those who attended. It was very rewarding for me and the coaches to see the women get satisfaction learning and developing skills, which until recently have been part of a male dominated sport. We’ve also recently developed training days for men as they were equally keen to get involved and improve their skills too.”
