Central Scotland Gun Dog Club “first aid in the field” and “introduction to the field” training day

The Central Scotland Gun Dog Club are hosting a “first aid in the field” and “introduction to the field” training day on 20th November in Dunfermline.

The morning session will cover ‘First aid in the field’ including techniques covering haemorrhage, exhaustion, wounds, impalement and lacerations , bites, fractures & dislocations, crush injuries, eye & ear injuries and canine pulmonary cardiac resuscitation (CPR). There will be dummy dogs to practice CPR on and live models to help with the bandaging.

The afternoon session will cover ‘An introduction to the field’, building on the session delivered by Robert Johnston at the August training day. This will be a classroom session to prepare and guide the newcomer to the activities in the Gundog Field and taking you through the process and preparation for your first day beating/picking up/rough shooting/Field Trial/Working Test.   (No dogs)
