BASC’s centenary beer – Double Barrelled – has been chosen by the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) to be showcased at Britain’s biggest beer festival next month.
Double Barrelled, which is brewed by Hook Norton Brewery in Oxfordshire, has already proved to be popular with beer lovers at the CLA Game Fair last weekend and will now be featured at the Great British Beer Festival at Earls Court on 5-9 August.
Managing director of Hook Norton, James Clarke, said: “Double Barrelled was brewed to a new recipe to celebrate BASC’s centenary and we are very pleased with the brew and with how popular it has been. Hook Norton Brewery has a long association with field sports, and is delighted to have been involved in this project. Double Barrelled has been so popular that the brew may re-appear in 2009 so watch this space”
BASC’s director of operations and centenary project manager, Simon Hamlyn said: “This is great news for our centenary celebrations. To have Double Barrelled showcased at such a prestigious event demonstrates just how popular field sports and especially shooting have become. Double Barrelled really hits the target!”
