Busy time at the Game Fair

This year our stand at the Midland Game Fair attracted the usual constant flow
of visitors. BASC regular Chris Green, the Cornish Countryman, built a superb
wildfowling display that included cartridge re-loading by Nick Powell of the
Dyfi, Mawddach and District Wildfowling Association. Chris and James Green
were also on hand to talk to visitors. Gun makers G. Perry had a wonderful
display of vintage and modern shotguns and Willo Game supported the
gamekeeping area.

David Stretton of Donington Deer Management was on the deer department display along with trophy measuring, which saw some spectacular gold medal muntjac and fallow trophies. David also demonstrated a superb carcass handling cradle he had designedand built. This design takes a lot of the hard work out of handling heavycarcasses and can break down and stow away in a vehicle with ease. Thepicture shows Doris lifting a heavy fallow ready for the second part of thegralloch – an excellent piece of kit for DSC level 2 candidates.
